With the growing importance of information dissemination in the new millennium, the dimensions of the Right to Information (RTI) Law have expanded both at the national as well as the international level. This necessitated a comprehensive legislation to be evolved for providing a legal framework for the effective enforcement of the RTI Law. The subject of right to information is still in its nascent stage, it is therefore, important that its need and benefits are understood and appreciated by all stakeholders including state agencies and public authorities. The present book is a humble effort in this direction. The basic concept of RTI in all its facets and its necessity in a participatory democracy are explained in the book in a lucid and effective manner.
