PREFACE

Right from the beginning of my career as Lawyer I was having in depth interest in Criminal practice but as my father was known civil Advocate, with whom I had worked for five years, so I was also labelled as civil law practitioner. I continue nourishing my wish so when publisher offered me to write a book on Narcotics I was extremely happy and the book came out of my heart. Although this subject is designed as section wise but I have complied the book in topical style as the problem start from possession and ends at conviction/acquittal. The practicing advocate will find it useful in their daily routine of conducting cases. Although it is very difficult to write preface of any book as you have to explain the contents of book as well as the law on which the book is in few lines. But since with the Grace of God and blessing and good wishes of my near and dear ones it is no more difficult for me to write preface. So far I have written preface on 89 books printed and circulated by various publication houses of India since 1987

Every care has been taken to incorporate complete Judgements handed down by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on the subject but if unintentionally some law is omitted I seek apology from my valuable readers. I hope the readers will appreciate the writing skill of both the authors as has been appreciated in past as well. I entered in the field of book writing with the support and encouragement of my wife and daughter. These days there is less time to spare for them due to my practice and writing work but still my family supports me. I am very thankful to my first publisher Sardar Saranjit Singh Kalra who took the risk of investing in books written by me. With the Grace of Almighty all the books have been thundering success and out of print within few days of release. It will be unjust for me not to refer my Daughter Advocate Mannat Arora who helped and assisted me in writing this book. I wish her all the best for her future endeavors.
